Wedding Day FAQ's

Location Information

Where Should We Stay????

Please check out this list of AirBnb's in the area for your stay.

We are recommending that all guests stay in Santo Domingo for the wedding festivities, to reduce the amount of driving through rural Mexico on NYE. Some of these are close enough to walk to the venue!

If AirBnb's aren't your style, there is also a hotel, Jardin De La Abundancia, which is 8 minutes from the venue which you can find here.

Do I need my passport?

Yes! Mexico is another country and requires a valid passport for entry. Make sure that it does not expire within 2 month of traveling.

Where should I fly into?

Mexico City International Airport, is the nearest airpot to location of the events. It's 60 miles to the wedding location. (Check the Google Maps Link above)

What should we book as travel dates?

Our wedding ceremony will take place on Dec. 31st, 2024. We will have a New Years Day Brunch the following day on Jan 1, 2024, which all guests are invited to, and the wedding party and immediate family will need to be on site for the rehearsal + rehearsal Dinner on Dec 30th, 2024.

How long you would like to stay in the area is completely up to you! Just make sure you give yourself plenty of time for traveling before and after the ceremony and new years brunch! Mexico is a beautiful country, and we highly recommend giving yourself time before or after to explore!

How Do I get Around?

We recommend reserving a rental car in advance directly though a rental company. i.e. Enterprise, Hurtz, Alamo, etc...

We also recommend getting the insurance option when renting. Booking through private third parties can sometimes cause issues and is not recommended.

Taxis and Uber

Taxis and Uber are available in this area. An Uber can be taken from the Mexico City airport to Tepoztlan, Morelos. It is a 1h45min ride for about $1100.00 MXN Pesos, about $70.00 USD.

Is Mexico Safe to travel (for all the White Folks) ?

Yes! Mexico has cracked down on crime. However please do not break any speed limit laws. Remeber signs are in KMH not MPH.

Mexico has strict substance laws. Do not travel with drugs, or open alcohol containers.

Traveling in rural Mexico:

Travel with a second person and have cash on hand. If you break a speed limit law you may encounter corrupt police officers. They may ask for money in exchange to not write a ticket and to let you go. This often the best option; offer a low amount of a couple hundred pesos and try not to hand over you license. If possible, do not show them your passport at all.

Do I need to bring Cash?

Yes! We recommend buying pesos from your bank at least 3 weeks prior to travel. Most banks ship in foreign currency, which can take some time. Cash is still king in Mexico, especially in small towns! Lots of places will take cards, but it is important to have cash on hand just in case!

Do I need to learn Spanish?

YES! Time to brush up on your DuoLingo! Not everyone speaks english- you are a foreigner in Mexico! It will benefit you greatly to navigate if you understand some basic Spanish! Estamos ansiosos por celebrar contigo!
